The much touted CC advantage of enabling the release of new features when they are ready to go instead of waiting for the next full rework of the application(s) is for the most part a good thing. But, there will inevitably be a point where back-fitting new features to the existing CC7 platform will no longer be viable (or preferred). There will doubtless be a CC8 release, and I'm betting on the long established timetable for the previous CS releases. After all, marketing has to have something new and shiny to sell. At that point, I feel they should go ahead and offer the CC7 programs for sale as a perpetual license. The CC7 torrents will be everywhere by then anyway. As you say, time will tell.
